Notizen |
Orvin was a small town farm boy who excelled and became a Boxing Champion at an early Age.
He Won the Alberta Golden Boy Laurels in 1963 and this was his 3rd Big Boxing Coup for the year.
He also won the 1962 Canadian 119 pound Championship in Toronto and the 125 pound Gold Metal at the Canadian Games trial at Weyburn Sask.
On both occasions he was the Prime choice for the Canadian Boxing Empire Games in Perth Australia and the Pan American Games in Paulo Brazil but he was to young for both, by just 2 weeks for The Pan American.
He achieved a great deal in a short period of time and all was achieved after suffering from a serious injury at the young age of 9.
Orvin had his leg mangled in a plainer mill belt and was told he may never walk again, but he persevered and against the odds became a Real Champion in more ways than one.
