  The saddest and most deeply and generally regretted accident that ever occurred in Burnet happened last Wednesday afternoon, when Robert Atkinson was hit behind the ear with a baseball from the effects of which he died within a few hours. He received the blow during recess in the afternoon, but apparently suffered little from it at the time. He continued playing the game and recited his lessons as usual. When he arrived home, he went to his room, and by six o'clock had become unconscious. Physicians could give him no relief and the end came about 9:30 o'clock. It is presumed that his skull was crushed, a blood vessel broken, or perhaps both.
